Client
IBM — a well-known name — has been producing state-of-the-art technology for several decades. Their work often requires the creation of documentation and presentations, which can include audio-visual and/or multimedia material.
Challenge
To integrate various localisation services to assist IBM in translating different file formats (PPT or Flash) and content into several languages.

Solution
- Identify the target audience and select the translators accordingly. In this case the material intended for customers was marketing/sales related, and the e-learning material was for employees.
- In order to “globalise” this material into many target languages, we started by dividing the audio and graphic material into manageable parts. First step: obtain the transcript of the spoken text in the sound files and all the text contained in any graphic files. Second step: localise the sound and graphic material into the different target languages. Our pool of voice artists (European, Latin American and Asian languages) and sound studio experts took care of this process, while our team of graphic artists converted the text of the graphic files into the required languages. To ensure consistency, this took place in collaboration with the original translators of the transcribed texts.
- Once all the components were ready, we compiled them to obtain the final material, ready to be seamlessly integrated into the client’s systems.
